2012 Closing

The Tulsa Park & Recreation Board approved the closing of Biscuit Acres for Winter maintenance beginning Monday, January 16 through Sunday, April 29. Reopening will be on Monday, April 30, 2012. This will help prevent further deterioration of the BA turf caused by heavy use and create a better opportunity for the turf to restore itself beginning next Spring.

Any closing moves for 2013 will be considered and decided at the Park Board’s 2012 December meeting. As you well know, Tulsa needs at least three more off-leash dog parks in to help take the pressure off heavy volume at Biscuit Acres. There is a new 5 acre dog park planned for 2013 completion near 101st & Garnett in Broken Arrow. Until then, Joe Station and Biscuit Acres will remain Tulsa’s only off-leash dog parks. Due to lower visitor volume, Joe Station will not temporarily close this year.

Please help the Park Board spread the word to your friends and BA users about today’s Biscuit Acres closing decision. There are now signs at each entrance announcing the closing.

Thank you for your assistance.
